So often we hear that our business men and women are greedy and lack any sense of morality or integrity. Some folks believe that it is because we have as a culture strayed away from God, however as soon as you say something like that, you witness a Kenneth Lay type from Enron, tell us how devout he is?
And in all this talk let us mention that the regulators who are supposedly watching the businessmen are even more corrupt themselves. We have FBI, SEC, FTC, Elliot Spitzer all filing fake documents in court with bogus accusations, perjury and media press releases to match. But the lack of integrity in the government sector extends throughout government and deep into the rank and file.
Let us take a look at the credit card abuse with taxpayer’s monies and government issued credit cards for government employee expenses. We see staffers from Congress Men and Women doing “Stratgegy Sessions” at the local taverns, military personal going to strip clubs and even employees getting personal car washes at the carwash or taking their family out to dinner on our money.
This is outrageous, but what happens to these folks who cheat and steal and then lie about what they did? Do they get fired? Oh rarely, some might, they get reprimanded? Are you kidding me, we now have acceptable levels of integrity in our government and the bar or tavern is so low they’ll let anyone in and the more dishonest the better. Consider this in 2006.
